For our Director and Co-Founder Simon, the fight against MND is deeply personal. His family has endured the devastating impact of this cruel disease, and his father's story powerfully underscores the urgent need for greater awareness, support, and research.
"My father was a fit, active, and healthy man who lived life to the fullest. That made it even harder to witness the devastating impact of motor neurone disease (MND). Diagnosed in April 2023, our world was turned upside down as he gradually lost the ability to use his arms and legs. By August 2023, just four months after his diagnosis, we had to say goodbye.
MND is a cruel and relentless disease that strips people of their independence and dignity. There’s no cure, and the progress of the condition is heartbreakingly fast. My father’s journey highlighted just how vital it is to have access to support, understanding, and care during such a challenging time.
That’s why we are supporting the MND Association. They provide essential services to individuals and families affected by this disease, from funding specialist equipment to offering emotional and practical support. Their work also drives vital research that brings us closer to understanding MND and finding ways to stop it in its tracks.
By raising money for the MND Association, I want to honour my father’s memory and help others who are facing this devastating diagnosis. Every donation, no matter how small, contributes to improving lives and bringing hope to those living with MND."
