“It was a pleasure working with James at Charles & Dean on this deal. After our initial call, receiving a comprehensive write-up with supporting information made the process much more efficient early on. In addition, James’ fantastic working relationship with his client made it possible to have all our initial queries answered quickly. We were able to see the client to get a better understanding of the business, which resulted in a deal structured to meet the client’s long term strategic plans. Thank you for the introduction James.”
Dan Heald - National Sales Director, Praetura Asset Finance
The Problem
A UK-based green fuel generation business needed funding to expand its fleet and support nationwide growth. The expansion required new vehicles with environmentally friendly EURO 6 engines to maintain brand continuity and meet rising customer demand.
The Approach
The business partnered with Charles & Dean, seeking a lender who understood high-growth start-ups. Initially aiming to fund five new vehicles, Charles & Dean worked with Praetura Asset Finance. Praetura’s national sales director visited the business, gaining a deep understanding of its operations and growth plans. This led to a tailored lending approach that secured the necessary funding.
The Solution
Charles & Dean, in collaboration with Praetura Asset Finance, secured a £242,880 Hire Purchase (HP) finance over 60 months, including a three-month VAT deferral. Initially funding five vehicles, the deal expanded to finance a total of fifteen vehicles after a face-to-face evaluation. This enabled the business to accelerate its expansion, establishing multiple microsites across the UK for efficient oil collection and processing.
This funding arrangement empowered the business to achieve its ambitious growth goals while continuing to deliver environmentally sustainable products and services nationwide.
"Without Praetura's collaboration, the offer for an additional 10 vehicles would not have materialised, especially without the understanding of their National Sales Director, Dan Heald, regarding the business mechanics and future growth and the crucial role of debt in the company’s strategic plans."
James Wood - Senior Business Development Manager, Charles & Dean
